UofL College of Business to relocate graduate programs to Museum Plaza |

LOUISVILLE, KY (January 30, 2008) – Graduate business students will find increased opportunities for interaction with the Louisville business community when the University of Louisville College of Business relocates its graduate programs to Museum Plaza in the city’s central business district in 2010.
The college’s graduate programs – the “Professional MBA,” the college’s two-year MBA for working professionals; entrepreneurial MBA (IMBA); and master of accountancy – will move to the top five floors of 615-621 W. Main St. The four buildings are part of Museum Plaza, the planned $490 million commercial, cultural and residential development on the riverfront.
In creating the Center for Graduate and Executive Education, the college will use the approximately 40,000 square feet of space for faculty and staff offices, tiered classrooms, student lounges and study rooms. The center will include facilities for non-degree executive education courses and conference and seminar spaces for corporate use.
“Our programs are growing and we simply need more space,” said College of Business Dean Charlie Moyer. “There’s no place more exciting than downtown Louisville to create a great new learning environment for working professionals. With our focus on entrepreneurship, this will allow our students and faculty to interact with business leaders on every level.”
The Main Street location was selected as the most appropriate of seven proposals made to the college. Construction will begin this year with occupancy expected before fall 2010. The $15 million project will be financed by individual and corporate contributions, including a major gift from National City Bank.
UofL’s business school has recently earned several honors for its graduate programs, including ranking among the top 10 U.S. programs for entrepreneurs by Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review, and being named one of America’s best colleges for entrepreneurs in 2008 by Fortune Small Business magazine.
Undergraduate business programs will remain at the College of Business building on UofL’s Belknap Campus.
