Current Position: 
Matthew joined team Peritus in April of 2009 and currently serves as Director of our Ohio office.  With experience in the public, private and political arena, Matthew brings fresh ideas and a campaign-style approach to help our clients address their most critical communications and public policy challenges.

Most importantly Matthew brings versatility to our clients.  He assists in developing qualitative strategic grassroots campaigns and also helps place and coordinate news stories in leading publications to increase issue awareness.  Matthew watchfully monitors the ongoing health care debate for a coalition of home health agencies.  Early in the debate, Matthew controlled grassroots efforts and counseled field recruitment of a nearly 200-thousand strong nationwide petition in just over two months for our clients' best interest.  Additionally, at the release of Republican Leader: a political biography of U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, Matthew canvassed Kentucky with media interviews he set up for Author John David Dyche.  A public affairs and media savvy specialist, Matthew's consistently scores repeat wins for our diverse client base.     

Before Peritus: 
Mr. Henderson's professional background includes time spent at the local, state and national level of politics and policy.  Before Peritus, Matthew assisted fund-raising efforts for Recharge Ohio PAC Chairman John Kasich.  In 2008, Matthew served as the Central Kentucky Regional Director for Senator McConnell's successful re-election campaign.  Headquartered in Lexington, he directed the campaign in 16 counties and assisted in Senator McConnell's victory.  Early in his career, Matthew served as an intern in Senator McConnell's Washington D.C. office.   Before moving back to Kentucky, Matthew worked in the Grassroots and Advocacy Division of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, one of the most powerful associations in Washington D.C.  As a member of the VoteForBusiness team, he worked with hundreds of Chamber members across the country on voter education and advocacy campaigns, providing strategic tactical guidance. Matthew also worked at DC-based strategic communications firm DCI Group, where he handled product development and assisted managing state-based grassroots programming for various clients.

Additional Information:
Matthew is a native of Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in History.  In August of 2009, Matthew raised over $5-thousand in two months for the Pelotonia inaugural, a 180 mile grassroots bike tour across Ohio with 7-time Tour de France cyclist Lance Armstrong to benefit cancer research.  He plans to rejoin the tour in 2010.  Providing public relations tips for high-tech startup companies, Matthew is also a frequent blogger on kentuckystartups.com.
