Current position:
Steve joined Peritus in January 2007 as an Account Supervisor focusing on corporate and public affairs clients. He brings experience in local, state and national public relations campaigns and a strong strategic mind. Steve has played an integral role in the firm’s public affairs practice working on behalf of Museum Plaza, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, and for corporate clients such as Pfizer and Caremark Rx.
Whether you need to influence the right audience, create a new corporate brand, bring top-of-mind awareness to a critical issue or build grassroots support around a cause, Steve is well-equipped to develop and execute a strategic plan that gets results.
Before Peritus:
Steve has extensive experience handling complex and complicated issues for clients. As part of a team that launched Hill & Knowlton’s Tallahassee, Fla., office in 2004, he consulted on some of the state’s highest-profile issues including property insurance, nuclear power, workforce housing and real estate development. He also provided daily on-the-ground support to one of the nation’s largest insurers after hurricanes ravaged Florida in 2003 and 2004, and provided crisis communications counsel to Loyola University New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
In the complex arena of real estate development, Steve helped developers around the country to successfully navigate the rigorous path from planning to ground-breaking to grand opening. His most visible success was coordinating a statewide grassroots and media campaign for a coalition of commercial and residential developers, which helped bring about more than $170 million in additional state funding for affordable housing. Steve has worked extensively in consumer and tourism marketing, achieving significant national television and print media coverage. Some of his past clients include: Visit Florida, Travel Michigan, the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, the Southern & Eastern Kentucky Tourism Development Association and the Convention & Visitors Bureaus in Memphis, Nashville and San Antonio.
Additional information:
Steve is a graduate of Florida State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Public Relations. He is a member of the Young Professionals Association of Louisville and a volunteer and foster parent for several animal welfare groups in Kentucky.
