As an Account Representative for Peritus, Charissa oversees communications, special projects, and media relations for Arysta LifeScience North America, the University of Louisville Foundation, and the Academy of Preachers. She also provides support for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and the Partnership for Prescription Assistance. Charissa's work on behalf of her client's spans a broad spectrum of industries, from healthcare to not-for-profit to agriculture. She has organized and executed state-wide media tours on the East and West coasts (and in-between), launched news of ground-breaking initiatives, generated thousands of signatures for public affairs advocacy campaigns, and worked closely with national media outlets, such as the L.A. Times, to ensure fair and accurate coverage for her clients. Charissa relies on strong organizational and communications skills to develop, initiate and follow through on strategies that best meet the needs and achieve the overall goals of her clients.
Before Peritus: Charissa is a graduate of Murray State University, where she majored in Journalism and Spanish and was also a member of the Honors Program. Charissa studied abroad in Segovia, Spain with the Kentucky Institute for International Studies in the summer of 2005. As an editorial coordinator for New Caledonian Press, a small book and magazine publishing company based in Murray, Ky., Charissa oversaw all aspects of publication for two books in a series and wrote feature articles for Murray Life Magazine.
Additional Information: Charissa's motivation both inside and outside of the office remains grounded in her faith and a desire to give back to others. Charissa has been a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana since September 2007 and volunteers on a committee to support the not-for-profits largest annual fundraiser: Bowl for Kid's Sake. She is also a member of the Jefferson County Republican Party's Executive Committee and a former chair of the Louisville Young Republicans. Her other hobbies and interests include art, music and running.
