Current Position:

Charissa currently serves as an Account Representative, focusing on a variety of Peritus’ public interest and public affairs clients. Since joining Peritus in the summer of 2007, Charissa’s inquisitive nature and problem-solving skills have allowed her to take on some of the toughest client issues and not only deliver, but exceed her client’s expectations. Charissa learned early in life there is nothing hard work and determination cannot accomplish, and strives to meet client needs through attention to detail and the implementation of strong organizational and communication skills.

Charissa represents the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America and DCI Group. She maintains communications and relationships with hundreds of partner groups throughout Kentucky in conjunction with the Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA), and coordinated and executed a statewide bus tour for PPA in February 2008 in which information on 475 prescription assistance programs available through America’s pharmaceutical companies were distributed to hundreds of uninsured Kentuckians.

During her time with Peritus, Charissa has provided key support to consumer marketing clients like Louisville Bedding Company—organizing and executing a media tour in North and South Carolina for one of the company’s spokespeople—and to non-profit clients like the Colon Cancer Prevention Project.

Before Peritus:

Originally from Western Kentucky, Charissa is a graduate of Murray State University, where she majored in Journalism and Spanish and was also a member of the Honors Program. During college Charissa worked for university publications including the Shield Yearbook, where she served as editor-in-chief her junior year, and the Murray State News. Charissa studied abroad in Segovia, Spain with the Kentucky Institute for International Studies in the summer of 2005. As an editorial coordinator for New Caledonian Press, a small book and magazine publishing company in Murray, Charissa oversaw all aspects of publication for two books in a series and wrote feature articles for Murray Life Magazine.

Additional Information:

For Charissa, community involvement is an important aspect of life outside of work. She is the Chair of the Louisville Young Republicans, the 3rd District Representatives for the Kentucky Federation of Young Republicans, and a member of the Jefferson County Republican Party Executive Committee. She volunteers on the public relations committee for ElderServe, Inc. and is a big sister in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana. A longtime runner, she spends her spare time creating new running routes through her neighborhood in Crescent Hill. She participated in the Music City Half-Marathon in Nashville in 2007 and Louisville’s Derby Festival MiniMarathon in 2008, and plans to run many more half-marathons in the future.
