Our Beginnings

Peritus' origins go back to the 1990s, when we began The Commonwealth Group, a Kentucky lobbying and political consulting firm founded by partners Timothy Mulloy and Robert Gunnell. Over the years, our clients began asking for a broader range of communications services, and we expanded our offerings to serve those needs. In 2005, we turned exclusively to public relations and public affairs and unveiled the new name Peritus. Peritus is Latin for "experienced, skilled, expert" - words which exemplify our work and our people. From there, we've become the preferred public relations and public affairs firm in the region - and we plan to keep on growing.
