Alabama Roots, Global Perspectives
In March 2021, Peritus became the first Alabama member of the Public Relations Global Network (PRGN), a global brain trust of 55 independently owned public relations agencies across the world. Being a part of this exclusive international collective provides our firm with relationships based in knowledge-sharing on best business practices, global intel, trend predictions and mentorship from agency owners with decades of experience, better positioning Peritus for our next chapter of growth.
Celebrating the network’s 30th anniversary, our team recently attended the PRGN Spring Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona – its original founding location. We were in the company of agency leaders from 38 firms across the world, as far as Australia, Israel, Germany, Singapore, Japan, Chile and more. Roundtable discussions surrounding succession planning, creative retention programs, agency marketing and collaborative ways to do business together fostered a collegial sense of camaraderie but more importantly, allowed for vulnerable conversations about the successes and challenges of building a sustainable agency. For us, some of the most insightful conversations and teaching moments happened over meals or while socializing, building relationships and problem-solving together in a more personal, casual setting.
PRGN is careful to ensure agencies invited to the network do not compete with existing members, creating a level of trust only a group of true peers can understand (in other words, a healthy dose of real talk). Although we are one of the newest agencies to join this unique kinship, we feel confident PRGN will help us grow stronger in three essential ways: worldwide mindset, future prediction and best business practices.
Worldwide Mindset
PRGN agencies are dialed into the varying economies, political climates, cultures and social issues depending on where they are based. We regularly listen to our fellow network members’ concerns, challenges, solutions and market updates, and engage in dialogue to interpret how these global events may impact our clients’ industries and businesses. Talk about a value add.
Future Prediction
Along with a global presence comes knowledge of emerging trends, sometimes before it has reached the United States. Markets rich with innovation – like Dubai and Israel – report on what’s next in technology or cyber security best practices. With Europe enacting strict ESG standards, PRGN agencies in Romania, Denmark and the Netherlands share ways to layer sustainability into public relations plans. Our team is able to better predict emerging trends by hearing about them from the source – more quickly and on a deeper level than what a daily e-letter or podcast can tell us.
Best Business Practices
With some PRGN members entering retirement and executing succession plans after successfully starting their agencies 20 or 30 years prior, our growing firm has the opportunity to tap into their lifetime of experience. These mentors are dedicated to walking through lessons learned so we can avoid the roadblocks and challenges they navigated throughout their careers. This unique environment of vulnerability and transparency keeps us personally invested in one another’s successes. Isn’t that what it’s all about?
Our firm is proud to be a part of the next generation of PRGN to continue the network’s legacy of providing access to best PR practices, introducing products and services across many countries simultaneously and bringing genuine PR thought leaders to the table.
Our PUBLISHED by PERITUS takeaway is this:
We believe in the power of connection and expanding our impact globally through the resources and mentorship found within PRGN. We know we can leverage this partnership to help Alabama shine brighter.
