How do you celebrate the public-private partners that brought one of the most talked-about venues in Birmingham to life?

Invite the community to help Birmingham to shine brighter. Peritus worked with project partners and supporting local communications agencies to host a community sign lighting event showcasing Protective Stadium was officially open for business.

Following the launch of Protective's new brand, 200 business leaders, community partners and elected officials gathered to officially turn the lights on at Birmingham's new multi-use stadium including Alabama Governor Kay Ivey, Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin, BJCC Executive Director and CEO Tad Snider, UAB President Ray Watts, Protective President and CEO Rich Bielen, and Phillips Academy Eighth Grader Trysten Manning who read an original poem.

The event also featured a spectacular finale with Alabama’s first drone show 400 feet in the sky, including 60 drones timed with lighted audience wristbands, counting down to lighting Protective Stadium's new indigo sign. City Hall and other venues across Birmingham lit up indigo to celebrate the milestone, as well.

KEY SPEAKERS RANGING FROM PROJECT PARTNERS TO ELECTED OFFICIALS

“This is an exciting day for Birmingham and for the state of Alabama. Protective Stadium will have a tremendous impact on our state and in our communities. Most importantly, the public private partnership forged throughout this process has shown us what’s possible when we come together to achieve a common goal.”

ALABAMA GOVERNOR KAY IVEY
